I am a British-Romanian poet, songwriter and author of four books, writing in English, French, Russian and Romanian. I am grateful that my song A Century of Love represented my country of birth at the Eurovision Song Contest. I am also humbled that I was privileged to co-author Eugene Doga’s Waltz (soundtrack to the movie My Sweet and Tender Beast). This work made it to the 2022 International Olympic Games accompanying Canada’s figure skating entry performed by Madeline Schizas. In 2023 the 15-year-old Isabeau Levito won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships accompanied by our Waltz. Working in the international economic development area, I am a citizen of the world, a globalist, a climate action believer and an impact investment enthusiast. I also believe that poetry can ennoble one’s soul while music is a soft power that can help us build bridges in our multicultural world. I am positive that art is the ultimate tool to enhance and facilitate communication and appreciation between people, cultures and countries. Art is not luxury – everyone can afford it – and it can make the world a better and fairer place for all of us.
